B. Examine surfaces for water repellent contaminants or efflorescence
C. Cementitious surfaces must undergo a 30 day minimum cure prior to application of plaster
3.2 PREPARATION
A. Condition of Surface
Remove foreign matter, dirt, loose debris
B. Key
Confirm sufficient key exists to mechanically bond plaster. Bonding agent or lath may be required for drywall, smooth surfaces (clay tile, cast concrete i.e.)
3.3 INSTALLATION
A. Mixing
1. Use mechanical mixer with clear, potable, unsalted water
2. Clean mixers and containers between mixes
3. Mix plaster to workable, homogeneous consistency (approx. 1:2, water:plaster by weight) for hawk and trowel application
4. Mix should not be re tempered
B. Application
Proceed by complete panels after installation of temporary stop ends
1. Apply in one coat at a minimum thickness of 6 mm
2. Upon set surface can be leveled by cutting with French berthelet (for finish coupé) to obtain a final 5 mm thickness.
3. Possibly (for finish poncé), when perfectly dry, sand with 50/80 grade paper to remove completely the light-colored surface coat. Remove the dust with an air compressor
4. Possibly (for finish poli), spray clean, potable, unsalted water and sand with an 120 grade water-resistant paper. Use the created cream to fill every surface holes. Continue until complete disappearing of the extra-cream.
