Gypsolight

GypsoLight is a lightened plaster for interior application on all traditional support.

Definition

GypsoLight is lightened plaster mortar to spray: PFD-3N following thefrench national norm NF B 12-301. It is fabricated from highly pure
calcium sulfate, originated from the underground quarries of Ile-de-France. It contains among others, inert loads to lighten it up.
It can be custom-colored in the bulk.

Usage

GypsoLight is intended for interior coating only (walls and ceilings),on
any usually built support, clean and sound.

Advantages

A total mechanization and a fast drying time yields a very important time saving factor. The application is made easy during the diverse
operations ( floating, tightening, cutting, burnishing, and smoothing) due to the elasticity of the product.
The output is excellent, what allows to coat large surfaces without recovery: this is particularly appreciable in the case of tinted-in-the-bulk application.
Its surface hardness is exceptional and give high-end quality works.

Aspect and Colors

GypsoLight is most often finished by smoothing. It can nevertheless, be subjected to any other finishing, in particular tool-finish renderings.
The tint in the mass is custom-made: we can address all demand and countertype any color.
Moreover, the setting time can be adapted for each utilization.

Preparations

In all cases, one must scarify the former coating at least 1 inch / 12 mm deep, and all support non-adhering elements or of insufficient
quality. One is to treat all support pathologies, then to thoroughly dust off. In the end the support must be clean, soot, bistre or efflorescence
free.
The very deeply scarified parts must be wire-meshed in a filling-up-fashion before the coating with identical material to the original.
All non-apparent wood elements must be wire-meshed before coating, as well as all surface heterogeneities of the support ( wire-lath and galvanized nails).

Application

GypsoLight application must follow the DTU 25.1 rules (french standard). GypsoLight mustn't be applied below 5 °C (41 °F), nor on frozen or
thawing support. Do not apply in hot weather or full sun. The support must be humid in depth. It is mixed by hand with a mixer in a rubber container
or it is sprayed with an adapted machine. It has to form an homogeneous paste holding a load at least 3 cm (1 ¼ in. ) thick (20 to 23 li/bag).

In the most usual version, one disposes of about 2 hours to spread and float. The take occurs in the 2 to 3 following hours.
The cutting with a sharp berthelée can then start, as soon as chips come off the tool, that being generally in the afternoon.
The smoothing, or scraping is then carried out. Other setting time are also available on order.

Consumption

10 kg/m² per cm thickness (about 2 pds/sqft per 7/16 inch). A bag covers approximately 26 sqft.

Preservation

About 4 months kept off from humidity, in a storage room dry and sound.

Conditioning

In paper 35 kg (77 lbs) bags on pallets with streamers. Original or custom-tinted.
